In response to media reports that "a video of a drunken soldier doing hip-hop on the street was uploaded to TikTok", the Army Education, Training, and Doctrine Development Command stated today (10th) that following an investigation, the serviceman indeed had completed military training at the Special Airborne Training Center, but was suspended from service in February this year (2024). To clarify the case, the unit took the initiative to contact the serviceman who indicated that the individual in the picture was his friend, and not an active soldier. The video was also recorded at his home, and not at the camp.

The Army Education, Training, and Doctrine Development Command stated the individuals in military uniform in the video were not believed to be members of the military as their uniforms were unkempt. The video was also labeled "Brothers of the Armed Forces Dancing Hip Hop" and has seriously affected the image of the Armed Forces and caused confusion among the general public. Army Education, Training, and Doctrine Development Command took the initiative to provide the video and reported to the Pingtung Military Police to assess if any laws had been violated.
