The flag-raising ceremony with the theme of "A Vibrant Taiwan, A Sustainable Future" was held at the Presidential Palace on New Year's Day 2024, and was personally hosted by President Tsai today (1st). Both military personnel and civilians in audience sang the national anthem in solidarity, led by representatives of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons from previous years, expressing their patriotism and recognition for the country. As the national flag song sounded, the national flag was slowly raised in front of nationals as all celebrated the first day of 2024 for the Republic of China.

Minister Chiu of the National Defense led Mei Jia-shu, Admiral Second-Class of the Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Bai Hong-hui, Vice Minister (Policy), Hsu Yang-pu, General Second-Class of the Vice Minister of Armaments, representatives from various joint staff units, and student representatives from more than a dozen of military institutes and academies, including the Military Academy, the Nava Academy, the Air Force Academy, Fu Hsing Kang College, Management College, the Chung Cheng Institute of Technology, the National Defense Medical Center of the National Defense University (NDU), the Army Academy, the Air Force Institute of Technology, and Chung Cheng Armed Forces Preparatory School, to take part in the New Year's Day flag-raising ceremony at the Presidential Palace as they expressed their love for the country.

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) noted that the MND Symphony Orchestra and Honor Guard of the ROC Corps coordinated with the primary theme of the event of "A Vibrant Taiwan, A Sustainable Future", and played four repertoires of songs, including "March of Military Memories", "Military Spirit of Whampoa", "Navigator", and "Medal of Valor", coordinating the music with changes of positions and exhibition drills. Such military arrangements not only demonstrate majestic military appearance, but further symbolize the Armed Forces as the navigator of a democratic Taiwan that will move forward bravely in the face of difficulties and challenges.
