The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated that as of 9:00 today (29th), it had successively detected 24 sorties of various of CCP aircraft, including J-10s, J-16s, KJ-500s, and Y-9s, and drones for sea-faring activities, and 12 of the sorties crossed the median line and extending into the southwest airspace. A total of five CCP warships worked on joint combat readiness and patrols. The Armed Forces adopted joint intelligence, and surveillance and reconnaissance measures to closely monitor the situation, and dispatched mission aircraft, warships, and shore-based missile systems to respond.
The MND emphasized that keeping peace and stability across the Strait is conducive to security, prosperity, and wellbeing of the Indo-Pacific region, and is also the collective responsibility of all parties concerned in the region, including the Beijing authorities. As such, a sharp increase of tensions and worsening of regional security is likely to be generated if the CCP continues to harass the region. The MND calls on the Beijing authorities to take due responsibility and immediately cease such unilateral actions and avoid compromising regional stability.
