In response to media reports stating that relevant CCP departments announced it will hold targeted exercises in the near future, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (11th) that the Armed Forces will adopt joint intelligence, and surveillance and reconnaissance measures to closely monitor the situation around the Taiwan Strait and regional exercises by the CCP. It will also continue to stay abreast of and to respond to relevant developments.
The MND pointed out that that CCP has not only dispatched aircraft and warships to harass the peripheral areas around the Taiwan Strait in recent years, undermining peace and stability, but also made use of warfare techniques to disseminate information, both true and false, with the intention of causing confusion of the general public. The MND urges our general public to stay calm and refer to information released by both public and private fact-finding agencies, such as the MND and other outlets, to enhance the overall protective resilience of our society against disinformation, and jointly safeguard our national security.
