The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (9th) that the CCP persistently carried out military exercises around the Taiwan Strait. As of 1200 hours today, it had organized military aircraft and warship formations across the median line of the Strait from the north, center, and south. The MND detected a total of 58 sorties of CCP aircraft of various kinds, including the Su-30 MKI, Shenyang J-10, Shenyang J-11, Shenyang J-16, Xian H-6, Xian Y-20, Shaanxi Y-8, Shaanxi Y-9, and Air Warning KJ-500, of which 31 sorties crossed the median line and entered the southwest airspace. A total of nine vessel sorties were also detected.
The MND further stated that the Armed Forces had made use of joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance measures to closely monitor the trends developments of CCP troops based on the principle of "Not Escalating Conflict, Not Triggering Disputes", and dispatched mission aircraft, warships, and ground missile systems to closely monitor and appropriately to handle the situation.
