Navy Education, Training, and Doctrine Development Command stated today (8 th )
that "when the Longchuan Recruit Training Center under its command carried out a
preliminary equipment readiness inspection for weapon and ammunition
mobilization, it discovered that parts and operation movements of a ".45 pistol"
were unusual". The pistol was found to be a model gun after professional appraisal.
Navy Education, Training, and Doctrine Development Command further stated that
Command will set up a special task force to ensure full inventory of weapons and
ammunition, and will also take the initiative to transfer the case to the relevant
judicial unit for investigation. It will also strengthen internal management
mechanisms and military law education and discipline to prevent the recurrence of a
similar situation.
