Army Command issues a press release explaining that a "soldier of the 203rd Brigade injured himself, and the 8th Field Army is working with prosecutors and the police in the investigation"
8th Field Army Command stated that a draftee, whose surname is Huang, of the 203rd Brigade posted a worrying message on his personal social media when on vacation in the early hours of today (5th). His fellow servicemen immediately reported the case to their cadres, and asked the family to assist in their search for their colleague. The draftee was found in a passenger car near his home and is suspected to have self-harmed. He was brought to hospital for emergency treatment, but sadly passed away from his injuries. The case is being investigated by the police and prosecutors.
The 8th Field Army expressed deep regret and sadness for what happened. As well as working with the police and prosecutors in the investigation, Command has assigned high-level cadres to assist the family through this difficult time. Command will also continue to strengthen education and health of all officers and soldiers to prevent such an unfortunate event from occurring in the future.
