The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (9th) that the Armed Forces have recently detected a number of CCP aircraft and ships that have continued operations around the Taiwan Strait, while some CCP aircraft even crossed the median line of the Strait. The Armed Forces have made use of mission aircraft, vessels, and shore-mounted missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the situation. Furthermore, the Armed Forces shall, under the context of vigorous training to ensure combat readiness and based on the principle of not escalating conflicts and provoking disputes, firmly defend our sovereignty and national security and adhere to the line of defense for democracy and freedom.
The MND emphasizes that CCP has seriously compromised the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait and surrounding areas and has resorted to groundless accusations and provocative actions. The Armed Forces is therefore making use of joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems to fully understand the situation around the Taiwan Strait and respond appropriately. The Armed Forces are capable, determined, and confident that they can ensure the national security of the country.
