The Ministry of National Defense issues a press release explaining "the media reported that retired Air Force Colonel Liu was involved in a situation in violation of the National Security Law"

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (4th) that the media had reported that retired Colonel Liu of the Air Force was involved in a situation in violation of the National Security Law. The case as uncovered was disclosed by servicemen as they took the initiative to report the incident. After long-term monitoring and evidence collection, the servicemen then notified the relevant national security units so an investigation could be conducted. During the investigation, security damage control measures were adopted. The case is currently in the judicial process and the MND is working with the prosecution so may not comment further.
The MND furthered clarified that it will continue to tighten various security control mechanisms, adhere to mutual assistance and cooperation among its national teams, and give free rein to the strength of security (investigation) and defense to jointly counter CCP infiltration for gathering intelligence.
