Naval Command issues a press release about "the hard landing of a S-70C anti-submarine helicopter under the command of the Anti-submarine Aviation Group" and clarifies the damage and injury to the fuselage and personnel respectively (June 22, 2022)

Naval Command stated today (22nd) that a S-70C anti-submarine helicopter under the command of the Anti-submarine Aviation Group was forced to execute hard landing. After investigation, it was found that the fuselage of the aircraft was severely damaged, and the pilot and co-pilot suffered from minor injuries and lacerations but retained clear consciousness. An examination mechanic suffered 2-3 degree burn covering about 10% of his body. He is now conscious in a stable condition. The mechanic chief suffered 2-3 degree burns covering about 90-95% of his body, and is currently in intensive care. The Medical Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) has assigned professional physicians from the Tri-Service General Hospital to the Zuoying Branch in southern Taiwan to assist in treating the personnel. Command has also set up a special task force to provide the most comprehensive care to the injured officers and soldiers.
