The Ministry of National Defense issued a press release stating that "a CPC Y-8 transport aircraft was detected as it entered Taiwan’s southwestern airspace" (June 12, 2020)
The Ministry of National Defense (MND) said today (12) that it detected a CPC Y-8 aircraft in the morning as it entered Taiwan’s southwestern airspace. After our air reconnaissance and patrol aircraft responded appropriately and implemented broadcast warnings for expulsion, the aircraft flew out of our air defense identification zone (ADIZ).
The MND emphasized that the Armed Forces is capable of monitoring and supervising the situation at sea and in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait, as well as understand and respond to it with confidence. The current situation is normal.
