With the approval of the President, the position adjustments for Armed Forces generals are as follows:
1. The vacant Chief of the General Staff position will be filled by General Huang Shu-kuang, Commander of the Navy; the Commander of the Navy will be filled by Vcie Admiral Liu Chi-bin, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, and the Deputy Chief of the General Staff will be filled by Lieutenant General Hsu Yan-pu, Administrative Deputy Minister of Ministry of National Defense, who will also be promoted as an Army General.
2. Lieutenant General Hsu Yan-pu, Administrative Deputy Minister of Ministry of National Defense, graduated from the 1983 class of the Republic of China Military Academy and the 1998 class of the war academy, and comes with an impressive academic and experience resume, including having served important military positions like the Chief of Staff of the 10th Army Command, Deputy Chief of Staff of Army, Deputy Minister of Chief of Staff Personnel Room, and Commander of the 6th Army Command. Hsu contributed greatly during his current position by having conducted significant works including the instructions on national defense strategic planning and troop structure construction; due to his substantial experience, Hsu was promoted to be the Deputy Chief of the General Staff in order for him to continue to promote various combat readiness missions of army establishment.
3. The aforementioned transfers be in effect from January 16th 2020.
