Public Security Video of the Military Police is to Reinforce Vigilance of Soldiers and Officers, Please Refrain from Conducting Political Interpretation.

Regarding the media coverage of “Public Security Video of Military Police Suspects to be Insinuating a Certain Presidential Candidate”, the Military Police Command has provided the following explanations:

1. The command is responsible for producing and broadcasting the 2019 public security unit play of military police features, in order to propagandize the safe concept of public security and reinforce vigilance of soldiers and officers. The command had began adapting the People’s Republic of China spy incident into the script of the unit play since March, and had named the plot as “Set Up”, with soldiers and officers serving as actors and actresses. The 8-month discussion and shooting aimed to probe into the People’s Republic of China’s recruitment method toward active (discharged) soldiers and officers, and hopes to remind soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces to stay vigilant of spy infiltration.

2. All actors and actresses from the unit play are played by soldiers and officers upon their agreement on portraying specific characters, and there are no additional settings to these characters. The command hereby requests all sectors to refrain from excessive speculation or political interpretation, instead they should focus on the educational connotation of the unit play.

3. The Military Police Command emphasized that citizens can rest assured that it holds fast to civil service neutrality and civilian control of the military, while also pursues the responsibility of protecting the country and the people.
