Air Force Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter of “Major Development to the Salvaging of Dassault Mirage 2000, Black Box Sank for 2 Years Finally Found”. (October 17th, 2019)
Regarding the media coverage of “Major Development to the Salvaging of Dassault Mirage 2000, Black Box Sank for 2 Years Finally Found”, the Air Force Command Headquarters has expressed today (17th) that the FDR for the Dassault Mirage 2000-5 fighter aircraft (no. 2040) that went missing in the northern airspace of Taiwan on 7th November 2017 has been found at the sea area of the incident with the assistance of the Marine Technology Centre of the National Applied Research Laboratories. The Air Force Command Headquarters further expressed that the recovered FDR will be sent to the original manufacturer for interpretation in order to clarify on the cause of incident and prevent from similar tragedy occurring again. In addition, this special task has completed its mission, and will be suspending subsequent underwater salvaging.
