Army Education, Training and Doctrine Development Command: Soldier Self Mutilated and Committed Suicide; Military Cooperates in Investigation.
The Army Education, Training and Doctrine Development Command stated that Private First Class Pan from its affiliated Infantry Training Command has been found by his family during late night yesterday (11th) having self-mutilated and committed suicide at home, and was notified subsequently. The entire incident is being investigated and clarified by the prosecutors and police of Pingtung County.
The Army Education, Training and Doctrine Development Command is deeply saddened by this incident; apart from fully cooperating with the investigation by the prosecutors and police subsequently to clarify on the incident, the command will also assist with the family for preparing for the funeral and other matters, as well as continue to reinforce life education and psychological counseling for soldiers and officers, in order to establish correct life awareness and prevent similar tragedy from occurring again in the future.
