Typhoon Lifted with Land Warning, Armed Forces Will Continue to Grasp On the Conditions and Respond Instantly
Ministry of National Defense stated that as “Typhoon Lekima” is gradually leaving Taiwan, the Emergency Operation Center of Ministry of National Defense has been lowered to level 2 preparedness, whereas the Matsu Defense Command and Dongyin Area Command remain to be at level 1 preparedness, and the 3rd Combat Zone maintains its preset troops and level 2 preparedness.
The current preset troops of the 3rd Combat Zone (Yilan, New Taipei) consists of 196 soldiers in 9 areas, and 27 items of various type 2 equipment; the combat zone will be adjusted to a normal preparedness after the preset troops return to their stationed locations tomorrow (10th).
Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the Central Weather Bureau has determined that the central and southern region of Taiwan should be prepared for torrential rain for the next two days caused by southwester. The Armed Forces will continue to grasp on the subsequent development of the typhoon and the rain conditions of each area, and fulfill the responsibility of protecting the country and serving the public with comprehensive disaster prevention preparation and diligent attitude.
