Army Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding the Media Coverage of “Explicit Selfies in Female Soldiers Camp Displaying Large Areas of Tattoo on Arms and Legs”.

Selfies Violation within Female Soldiers Camp will be Reviewed and Punished According to the Armed Forces Information and Communication Reward and Punishment Regulations.

Regarding the media coverage of “Explicit Selfies in Female Soldiers Camp Displaying Large Areas of Tattoo on Arms and Legs”, Army Headquarters has stated today (21st) that preliminary investigation has confirmed the content of the photo to be a female soldier affiliated with the 8th Army, who smuggled in an unapproved smart phone and sent the selfie that she took within the camp bedroom during rest time to her friends, which was then screen captured and circulated. The unit has convened a personnel evaluation committee, and will review and punish the involved female soldier according to the “Armed Forces Information and Communication Reward and Punishment Regulations”.

Army Headquarters pointed out that relevant departments will stipulate appropriate stipulations in regard to a fraction of soldiers in active service, who are suspicious of new tattoos during the service period in camps, so as to amend such violation, as well as maintain the positive image and honor of the Armed Forces.

Army Headquarters emphasized that it has notified each unit to continue to promote the “Armed Forces Information and Communication Reward and Punishment Regulations”, and reinforce internal management and behaviors, whereas this incident will also be used as a propaganda example in order to maintain information security and the discipline of internal management.
