The National Defense Medical Center issued press release to explain that “Accident occurred in the National Defense Medical Center, a Colonel suddenly passed away in the office”. (September 4th, 2018)
In response to the internet news that “Accident occurred in the National Defense Medical Center, a Colonel suddenly passed away in the office”, the National Defense Medical Center said that the Chief of Education Colonel Chan had return to school to handle official duties at 10:04PM in September 3rd (holiday) and have been found lying on the bedside of the bedroom at 1:10AM of the next morning and without signs of life.
It is understood that the Chief of Education has strong sense of responsibility and break down from constant overwork during his tenure, and thus died during performing his duty. With the inspection of the prosecutor and the forensic doctor of the Shihlin District Prosecutors Office at 13:30 today (4th), the cause of death is cardiogenic shock.
The National Defense Medical Center expressed its deep sorrow with the accident, and will pay full effort to assist his family for subsequent funeral matters and strengthen the advocacy of paying attention to personal health care to officers avoid similar accident in the future.
