President Tsai Inspects Military Police Department, Acknowledges Hard Work and Dedication of Officers and Soldiers, and Offers Early Festival Greetings (June 8, 2016)

(Military News Agency reporter, Chen Jian-Xing, Taipei, June 7th) In the inspection visit to the Military Police Fu-Xi Military Base and other units today, President Tsai Ing-Wen expressed her encouragement and expectations to the military police family to work together to seek honor and serve as the role models for the military reforms.
Accompanied by the Secretary-General of the National Security Council Wu Chao-Hsieh, Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff General Yen Teh-Fa, President Tsai first listened to the introduction briefing of the “Wan-Jun Mission of the 239th Armored Infantry Battalion of the Military Police and the Clouded Leopard Taiwan Infantry Fighting Vehicle” and took a ride around the base on the Clouded Leopard in the morning. Following that, the President had lunch with the officers and soldiers and issued them with festival meal allowances as encouragement and acknowledgement for their hard work and as an early festival greeting.
When addressing the officers and soldiers, President Tsai expressed that 239th Military Police Battalion is the only armored infantry of the Military Police, as well as an important force for the defense of the capital, and she has witnessed the serious attitude of the military brothers and sisters in their duties and in their training.

President Tsai also reminded the volunteer officers and soldiers present that they should make use of the time in the military to learn more skills. The President also reminded the cadre officers to think and reflect on how the training can be implemented in practice, establishing a smoother promotion system for the officers and soldiers, increasing the efficiency of the operations so that their subordinates will not consider their hard work to be in vain.
President Tsai said that good training, smooth promotion system and reasonable operation demands are her expectations of the military, and she hopes that when the military personnel leave their military career, they will be able to connect smoothly with their future careers.
