President-elect Tsai Ing-wen visit MND and hear briefing on defense(April 15, 2016)
(Military News Agency, reporter Kuo, Chia-Liang, Taipei, April 14)The Ministry of Defense said today, President-elect Tsai Ing-wen, vice president-elect Chen Chien-jen, premier-designate Lin Chuan and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary-General Joseph Wu paid a visit to the Ministry of National Defense and heard a briefing on defense matters. Also attending this briefing are Defense Minister Kao Kuang-chi, Chief of the General Staff of the MND Gen. Yen Te-fa, Deputy Minister Admiral Chen Yung-kang, Army Gen. Cheng Te-mei, and high rank military officers, including commanders of Army, Navy, and Air Force, President of the National Defense University, Vice Minister, the Reserve Officer, the Military Police Commander.
To help President-elect Tsai Ing-wen and the incoming administration have an overview of defense matters, the Ministry of National Defense has briefed on affairs including current military and defense situations, the progress of mercenary system, and defense independence.
