Yen Teh-Fa Inspects Southern Epidemic Prevention Conditions and Praises Officers and Soldiers for their Efforts (Oct 2nd 2015)

Chief of General Staff General Yen Teh-Fa will represent Minister of National Defense Gao Guang-Chi today to inspect the implementation of dengue fever disinfection and epidemic prevention operations by the military and praised the 4th Combat Zone epidemic prevention forces for their assistance to local government epidemic operations and efforts to ensure the health and safety of the public. Accompanied by officials from General Staff headquarters, Chief of General Staff Yen Teh-Fa listened to mission briefings at the Republic of China Marine Corps Command, inspected vacant sites and camps in Hequn New Village, Zuoying District and Jueming Camp, Fongshan District and understood more about the epidemic sterilization and prevention operations. At the same time, he also praised the military officers and soldiers for their hard work and acknowledged their loyalty and effort in conducting their missions.
During the inspections, Chief of General Staff Yen Teh-Fa stressed that epidemic prevention operations are interlinked and all mission forces should strengthen coordination and communication to ensure comprehensive implementation of the missions, especially for restricted control vacant villages, retirement homes and camps, inspection patrols and cleaning operations should be strengthened to eliminate blind spots in vector mosquito breeding. Chief of General Staff Yen Teh-Fa expressed his concern for the welfare of the epidemic prevention forces and instructed the officials to establish a regular routine for shifts and leaves so that officers and soldiers may get sufficient rest in between missions and increase mission efficiency. Chief of General Staff Yen Teh-Fa also reminded all departments to ensure proper protection measures and advocate self-health management concepts, protecting the camps from the threat of epidemic and guarantee the health and welfare of the officers and soldiers.
In addition, Chief of General Staff Yen Teh-Fa offered his condolences to the families of the deceased AT-3 jet trainer flight instructor and trainee earlier on. The families expressed their thanks for the concern of the officials and thanked the military for the search and rescue operations conducted to find and recover the bodies.
