Guangchi Gao Awards Medals to Generals to be Retired for Praising Their Contributions to Military Service (July 1, 2015)

Today, Minister of Ministry of National Defense Guangchi Gao awarded medals to Lieutenant-General Chin, Shou-Fong and other four generals, who would soon be retired, to praise their dedication and diligence during the military service as well as their outstanding contributions to preparations for wars. Minister Gao first thanked the generals for their performances during the military service, and praised their efforts and outstanding performances of weapon research and development, logistics support and maintenance of major drills and training, research on tactics and compilation of guidelines, and integration of logistical systems during assumptions of important posts, as well as their sacrifice and contributions to the country and national armed forces.Minister Gao indicated that the national armed forces were promoting a “mercenary system” in order to fulfill the transformation of national defense through talent recruitment and retention and revolution in military affairs and talent cultivation. He hoped that retired generals continued providing supports and recommendations and taking pride in the national armed forces. Moreover, to let retired generals fully understand personal rights and interests, related services, and regulations of confidentiality, Ministry of National Defense especially coordinated Veterans Affairs Council to provide detailed descriptions for them, showing its sincere care for colleagues.
