Acknowledgement to the Rank and File: Considerate service from the Legal Affairs Unit of the 6th Corp Command (May 25th, 2015)

Among the rank and file, there is a group of “considerate” specialists who shuttle at every corner of the troop. They are in charge of all legal services of the officials as well as the lecturing of correct legal knowledge. They solve their doubts silently, maintain their rights and explain their responsibilities. They are the “Legal System Officers” at the first line of the troops.
Located at the north, the Legal System Officers would make good use of the holidays and set up stations at military recruitment events or the opening activities at the camps as to offer protection of legal rights, legal support and advice as well as to promote military recruitment event. Where they are located, they would attract the attention. These passionate military personnel come from the Legal Affairs Unit of the 6th Corp Command.
Upholding a spirit of love and care, the Legal Affairs Units not only is a helper of the military rights and benefits. It is actually dedicated at the legal services at towns and villages having a great reputation among the officials and the people.
The Head of the Legal Affairs Unit of the 6th Corp Command, Wang, Wei-teng, indicated that at the current stage, the military officials play dynamic roles at the troops. The local legal service center, which is in charge of the criminal compensation cases, claims and litigation, restitutions and recoveries, litigations of the troops and officials, and the lectures of legal affairs, is established by the Supreme Military Court.
Under the Supreme Military Court, the Legal Affairs Unit (Sections), which is in charge of litigation counseling, legal education and legal services are composed by the legal human forces or by human resources from distinct commands, brigades and regiments. Their presence is to fortify the legal administrative demands. During wartime, they would be sent back to the Military Court as to accomplish war missions.
Wang, Wei-teng said that as to provide a better service to the officials, he would take the lead to actively contact different troops as to provide legal services and legal educations. Based on their needs, they would have compliance interviews with officials with criminal records or who suffer from emotional situations. Using an assisting and caring method, they would allow the officials to understand their legal responsibilities.
“Watching the kids to finish their military service is the happiest thing”, pointed out by Wang, Wei-teng. The purpose of compliance interviews is to help the officials who are lost at the edge of the society to be back to the right route. Until now, the most joyful thing is that after further tracking, the brothers he interviewed have never break the law again. They have also finally finished their service with success. He hoped with all his heart that all the brothers who returned to the society could make a good living and their families would not have to worry about them anymore.
As to force the officials who are involved in legal cases, accidents, appeals or state compensation demands ca comply and meet the legal administrative processes, the Legal Affairs Units have compiled a “Cadre’s Legal System Manual” for the regiments they belong to. They use texts, diagrams and flow charts for the explanations; cases are included as to assist their understanding of the situation and the terminologies. In this way, it is easier for the troops to understand and to read different cases. Such a considerate action, the unit has also won the first place of the evaluation of “Legal education, legal services, counseling, and litigation assistance” in 2014 by the Ministry of National Defense.
Wang, Wei-teng emphasized that “the military law is for the army”, a common concept shared by all the Legal System Officers. Through different cycles and sections, they hope to maintain the military discipline and safety in a continuous effort. In the future, they would also enhance the educational methods and dynamize the teaching materials as to culture a correct legal concept for the officials, avoiding them from committing any crime and achieving a serious discipline within the army.
