In response to a media report that "it appears we have purchased a diesel engine used for trucks from a European country as the engine for an indigenous-made submarine," the Naval Command stated today (21) that the content of this report is false. In fact, all of the equipment specifications regarding the procurement of diesel engines for indigenous-made submarines must accommodate the concept of defense operations and contract scope and are capable of properly meeting the needs of naval operations.
