Air Force Command issues a press release clarifying that "the canopy of a F-16 from Chiayi came away"

Air Force Command stated today (11^th) that when a F-16 fighter (aircraft number 6698) from Chiayi Base performed routine flight training at 07:29, its canopy came away from the cockpit after taking off. Fortunately, the pilot had taken appropriate follow-up measures and touched down at 0736 hours. As for the reason for incident, an investigation by a special Air Force task force is underway.
