The Navy Education, Training and Doctrine Development Command issued a press release in response to media reports that "the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (MJIB) searched Zuoying military compound" (April 27, 2022)
In response to the media report that "the MJIB searched Zuoying military compound," the Navy Education, Training and Doctrine Development Command stated today (27) that it had preliminarily learned that a sergeant major of the Marine Corps School was suspected of having profited from a small amount of purchases of sporting goods and may thus be liable to have transgressed the law. Therefore, the case is currently placed under investigation of the Kaohsiung City Investigative Branch of the MJIB.
The Navy Education, Training and Doctrine Development Command emphasized that it would cooperate fully with judicial investigations and adhere to the principle of "not wronging, not indulging." If any illegal activities are found, they will be investigated, and related personnel will be discharged according to the law in order to maintain the uprightness of troops. Furthermore, the Command will cite the case and persistently strengthen legal education for servicemen, as well as assess and audit purchasing personnel to ensure procurement discipline.
