Following media reports that "the military hit a tire during target practice, resulting in smoke billowing to the sky, and firefighters were called", Army Aviation and Special Forces Command stated that the special combat training center under its authority carried out routine live rifle shooting at the Liyang shooting range this morning (6th). During practice, ammunition appeared to have hit the back of a tire, which then caught fire. As such, the unit immediately notified the Guguan Fire Brigade, and the fire was put out at 1330. No personnel was injured or equipment damaged.
Army Aviation and Special Forces Command pointed out that it will work with the police to clarify the cause of fire, and also ordered units under its command to strengthen safety protocol at each training ground, and implement fire protection measures and risk management and control to ensure the safety of troop during training.
