The Reserve Command of the All-out Mobilization Defense Agency of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) issued a press release in response to media reports that "a call-up recruit tested positive at the recruit training center"

Regarding the media report that "a call-up recruit was diagnosed with COVID at the recruit training center," the Reserve Command explained the details today (13) as follows:

1. A reservist of the Command who reported on April 11 received a quick screening before being admitted to the camp, and the result was negative. At 10:00 on April 12, the Command was notified by Miaoli County Health Bureau that a reservist was found to have overlapped footsteps with a diagnosed individual, so he was listed as a close contact. As such, the unit immediately assisted the reservist for earlier discharge, at which point he took the special epidemic prevention vehicle to hospital for PCR testing, as well as home isolation.

2. The Command immediately activated the contingency mechanism, as it strictly follows guidelines by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) and regional health bureau to conduct epidemic control, flow diversion, segregation management, and comprehensive disinfection operations in the most rigorous manner to ensure the normal operation of troops.
