The US government issued a press release regarding the "Patriot Contractor Technical Assistance" arms sales to Taiwan
The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (6) that the US government carried out the "notification to Congress" process regarding the "Patriot Contractor Technical Assistance" arms sales to Taiwan on April 5, eastern time, a contract that totals US$95 million and is expected to officially take effect after one month.
The MND pointed out that the United States should continue to assist Taiwan in maintaining sufficient self-defense capabilities in accordance with the Taiwan Relations Act and the "Six Assurances," which is the basis for upholding regional stability, and the MND would like to express sincere gratitude for the decision of the US arms sales.
The MND further stated that such arms sales show that the United States attaches great importance to our national defense and security. As such, both Taiwan and the US will continue to consolidate the security partnership and jointly safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and Indo-Pacific region.
