The Naval Fleet Command issued a press release stating that “a colleague subordinated to the unit was found to test positive for COVID19 by PCR" (March 30, 2022)
The Naval Fleet Command stated today (30) that a colleague subordinated to the unit took a leave on March 28 and went to see a doctor on his own due to physical discomfort the other day (29). Then, he was tested for COVID19 using PCR at the Zuoying Branch of Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital, with a positive result, and quarantine was thus implemented at the hospital as instructed with guidance from the local health authority.
The Naval Fleet Command further stated that the Command has already completed the adjustment of its forces, and this test result will not affect the task implementation of combat readiness. Furthermore, the unit immediately activated relevant epidemic prevention mechanism based on the epidemic prevention guidance by the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), and local government in order to render the measures comprehensive. Epidemic investigation, split-flow, segregation management, and comprehensive disinfection operations were all carried out. Isolation and quarantine and PCR testing were furnished for close contacts, and various epidemic prevention measures were adopted to maintain troops’ combat effectiveness.
