Army Command issues a press release regarding "A draftee whose surname is Tan was found dead of unknown reasons at the New Recruits Training Center of Chenggongling"

The 10^th Army Command stated that a draftee whose surname is  Tan of the 101^st Brigade was found unconscious by colleagues on the 7^th when it was morning drill time for the troops.  Cadres of the unit immediately performed CPR, and the draftee was rushed to Wuri Lin Shin Hospital. Despite these efforts, he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The case is currently being investigated by the Taichung District Prosecutor's Office.

The 10^th Army Command expresses its sincere condolences for the family of the victim, and has set up a special task force to work with prosecutors and the police in the investigation to clarify the cause of death. Command is also supporting the deceased's family members with funeral arrangements and pension matters.
