MND Issues Statement on Chinese Satellite Launch

    At 23:12 on December 20, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) reported that China had launched a rocket carrying a satellite from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province. The rocket’s trajectory passed through central Taiwan before heading to the Western Pacific. However, the rocket was not deemed a security threat due to its altitude exceeding the atmosphere. The ROC military is using joint ISR systems to closely monitor related activities and has taken necessary response measures.
