In response to media reports that "an officer felt unwell during a physical fitness test, and was sent to the hospital for medical treatment", the Ministry of National Defense (MND) explained the episode today (1^st):

1. Lieutenant Colonel Yang from the Tainan Finance Division of the Finance Center, Comptroller Bureau, underwent a physical fitness test at approximately four o'clock in the Testing Station of the Army Southern Appraisal Center, and passed out after feeling unwell. First-aid personnel of the unit immediately carried out emergency treatment, and then rushed him to the hospital.

2. The Comptroller Bureau immediately assigned high-ranking cadres to assist Lieutenant Yang, and notified his family members as soon as possible. The hospital is currently tending to the officer's treatment.
