The 8th Field Army stated that a non-commissioned officer, whose surname is Chan, from the 564th Armed Brigade, was involved in a car accident with a another car and a motorcycle when driving (it has been confirmed that the officer was not under the influence of alcohol when driving) along the Dazhuang section of Gangshan District, Kaohsiung City, this morning (6th) when on vacation. The accident resulted in casualties, and the case is under the Gangshan Branch of Kaohsiung City for investigation and examination.
The 8th Field Army offers its deep regrets for this unfortunate accident. In addition to working with the police in the investigation, the Army shall cite this incident as an example in training future units to strengthen safe driving education and protect drivers and other roads users.
