The Ministry of National Defense issued a press release stating the activities of CCP aircraft and vessels that were detected around the Taiwan Strait today (October 5, 2022)

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (5th), that a total of 33 CCP aircraft sorties (including 9 sorties crossing the median line of the Strait and its extension into the south-west airspace) and 4 CCP vessel sorties were detected as of 17:00. They have continued to carry out maneuvers over the sea area and airspace of the Taiwan Strait. The Armed Forces have adopted mission aircraft, vessels, and shore-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to deal with them.
