In response to the case of the "presidential amnesty for former major general Han Yu-ping and sergeant Chang Hao-sen", the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (22) that the president had taken the incompatibility of accountability and misconduct of the entire case, the singularity of severity of law over insubstantial affection, and the contributions of the Armed Forces and their families into account. As such, the MND will, based on the President's guidance, implement the protection of legitimate rights and interests, and continue to increase its care for the family members of servicemen, thus demonstrating its goodwill by attaching significant importance to the Armed Forces, as well as securing the livelihood of the military family.
