Air Force Command issues a press release in response to media reports that "the light-dot of a F-16 Fighting Falcon from Hualien Base disappeared."

Air Force Command stated today (17^th) that a single-seater F-16 fighter (No. 6672) affiliated with the Hualien Base had carried out an operation led by flight officer Colonel Chiang Cheng-Chih to perform routine training tasks at 1805. At 1807, the light dot disappeared 9 miles northeast of the airport, and the Air Force has already set up a response center to start search and rescue operations.
