The Ministry of National Defense issued a press release explaining the situation of "A US combat ship sailing through the Taiwan Strait" (24th April, 2020)

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) said today (24) that a US battleship sailed from the north to the south passing through the Taiwan Strait and continued to travel southward.
The MND pointed out that a US vessel carried out general navigation tasks via the Taiwan Strait, and the Armed Forces has made use of joint intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance to master relevant developments on the sea and airspace around us, with regular status conditions.
