Ministry of National Defense Issues Press Release Regarding “Joint Combat Readiness Patrol” and “Air-Sea Joint Drill”

The Ministry of National Defense stated today (September 13) that, starting from 0800 hours, it successively detected 27 sorties of various PLA main and auxiliary aircraft, including J-16 fighters, H-6 bombers, KJ-500 AEW&C, and drones, conducting activities off the Chinese coast, of which 26 sorties crossed the Taiwan Strait median line and its extension, entering the airspace off central, southwestern, and eastern Taiwan and into the West Pacific, and, in coordination with PLA vessels, conducted activities under the name of “joint combat readiness patrol” and “air-sea joint drill.” The ROC Armed Forces closely monitored the situation with joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets and cautiously responded to the situation by tasking mission aircraft and vessels and shore-based missile systems.
