Regarding the media report on “Upgrade of ‘PAVE PAWS’ Radar at Le Shan Radar Station, Hsinchu”, the Air Force Command Headquarters expressed today (2nd) that, assessments have been conducted to verify that the model can conform to the actual demands of the military and currently there is no demand for performance upgrades.

Due to the issue of disappearing sources for equipment materials, and to ensure the high availability of the equipment, the R.O.C. Air Force has adopted the relevant response measures to ensure the normal operation and effective warning functions of the system.

The Air Force Command Headquarters stressed that, the Air Force will continue to assess options for the optimal and efficient plan based on the current fighting capabilities and military threats so as to balance the national defense budget and the required maintenance of the equipment.
