Regarding the media report of “Kinmen Armored Vehicle Crashes into Bridge Pier to Avoid Truck in Opposite Traffic”, the ROC Army Kinmen Defense Command expressed that, around 1400 hours in the afternoon today (5th), the CM-23 Armored Vehicle was en route back to the military base after completing the training missions. When traveling past Sanduo Road and Taihu Road intersection, due to the narrow roads, the vehicle accidentally crashed into the bridge pier to avoid collision with a truck in the opposite direction. There were no casualties or injuries.

The Kinmen Defense Command indicated that, upon receiving the report, they had dispatched the officials of the responsible departments to handle the situation. In addition, the case will be made into a case study to strengthen the driving safety education and enforce the military personnel to comply with the disciplines of driving operations to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
