(Military News Agency reporter, Li Yi-Hao, Taipei, February 25th) Chief of Staff General Yen Teh-Fa awarded medals to Lai Sheng-Chuan and 5 other retiring colonels to commemorate their service in the military and acknowledge the excellence of their contributions to the missions ordered by their superiors and to the military building operations.

Chief of Staff Yen met with the retiring colonels in the Bo-Ai Base, Ministry of National Defense this morning and on behalf of the Minister of National Defense Gao Guang-Chi, awarded the 6 colonels as recognition for their contributions and efforts during their military service in the various important positions, ensuring the development of a strong military.

Chief of Staff Yen hopes that the retiring colonels will abide by their original intentions of “supporting the military and loving the military” so that even after their retirement, they can continue to support military building through actions and provide constructive suggestions to ensure the stable development of national defense policies.

At the same time, he also reminds the retiring colonels that regardless of traveling to China, overseas visits or meeting with friends, they should remain ever-vigilant to prevent the leaking of classified information on national defense and ensure the security of our national defense.
