    In response to possible threats posted to East Taiwan by Typhoon “Linfa”, Taitung District Command Department of the Army Camp held the disaster prevention, rescue, and preparedness meeting today to order every unit complete the preparedness for forces and appliances and carry out immediate rescues if necessary so as to ensure personal and property safety of residents in East Taiwan.  

    To fully prepare for disaster prevention and rescue, Taitung District Command Department of the Army Camp has completed the disaster prevention and preparedness for related personnel and appliances and visited the local head of government and disaster rescue entities for horizontal coordination and communication. This afternoon, Taitung District Command Department of the Army Camp also completed the grouping of disaster prevention and arrangement of preliminary forces. One medium tactical vehicle and thirty personnel and equipment were planned to be stationed at Tianhou Temple in Nanxing Village, Dawu Township in order to instantly assist the local government in executing disaster prevention and rescue. Commanding Officer of Taitung District Command Department of the Army Camp Major General Li indicated that soldiers will uphold the spirit of “disaster rescue is operation” to actively engage in the preliminary preparedness for disaster prevention and rescue. In case of emergency, soldiers may take on the disaster rescue immediately and take practical actions to ensure personal and property safety of residents.
