Air Force press release to explain the car accident in Hualian military compound today (23rd). (January 23rd, 2017)
The Air Force HQ (23rd) said that Sergeant Ye crashed his own car into a streetlight in Hualian military compound at 0800 on Jan 22nd. He has gone back to his unit after medical attention.
The Air Force HQ indicated that through the investigation Sergeant Ye was found drunken in the last night (21st) supper outside the military compound and after return by taxi he drove and crashed his own car into a streetlight as a result of unstable consciousness caused by alcoholic residual.
The Air Force HQ emphasized that “Armed Forces Punishment Act” would be applied to this case and the relevant educations of “Alcoholic Residual” and “Traffic Safety” would also be re-addressed for prevention.
MND press release to explain the case “Military helicopter S-70C carrying out the rescuing mission at Pengjia Islet for missing personnel in the sea”. (January 30th, 2017)
MND (29th) was informed by NRCC (National Rescue Command Center) at 1826 yesterday as technician personnel repairing the light house on Pengjia Islet accidentally fell into the sea at 47 nautical-mile north-east from Songshan air base and the military aircraft was requested. For the inconclusive search result MND (30th), today at 0845, has detached an aircraft S-70C (No. C-493) to carry out the rescuing mission. The aircraft took off at 0852 and reached the target zone at 0928 but still had zero result in searching. It returned at 1129 and landed at Songshan airport at 1207. Currently the rescuing vessels of Coast Guard Administration are still in operation and MND is standing by.
The Air Force HQ released an obituary of General Xi Jun Hua (January 24th, 2017)
General Xi Jun Hua, the former Strategy Expert of Office of the President and former Director of Air Force Aerospace Industrial Development Center, has passed away in Taichung at age of 92. The HQ gives its deep condolences and full support to his family afterward for the sake of his contribution.
General Hua was a graduated cadet from Air Force Officer College in annual 26th. He was a dedicated pilot of fighter jets and U-2 reconnaissance planes. He also studied in USA for PhD degree in Aerospace engineering and returned to Taiwan to lead the R&D of IDF fighter jets to its successful virgin voyage. In present days IDF fighter jets still fly in the sky upon Taiwan as a remarkable contribution by General Hua.
MND press release to interpret the news report “Brotherhood rivalry, a staff sergeant knock-outed” (January 16th, 2017)
The Air Force HQ explained (16th) the media report “Brotherhood rivalry, a staff sergeant knock-outed”. Staff Sergeant Lu and Private Kao and Lin were with their friends heading to KTV in Hualian city at night on Jan 14th. The fight which happened to break out is under investigation by Hualian PD. MND has requested the unit to cooperate with the police and will make those involved take the responsibility.
The Air Force HQ also reasserted it would fortify the law education and emphasize on individual safety of every member with this case as a quotation.

For the allegation of former MP Zheng-Yuan Tsai on his Facebook “All members of military police in the northern region have been mobilized to Office of the President and prepared rubber bullets to clash down”, MND (22nd) strongly asserted what Zheng-Yuan Tsai alleged was completely non-sense and condemned his attempt to amplify the conflict by Facebooking groundless information.
MND emphasized that for the issue of security military police acts according to “Rules of Police Department and Military Police over Social Security” and there is no given order to mobilize all members of military police in the northern region to Office of the President. It is MND’s appeal to everyone that should reject groundless rumors to avoid people and the society from panic and anxiety.
MND press release to explain the case “Rescuing mission of Air Rescue Group over a Panamanian vessel” (January 6th, 2017)
MND indicated (14th) that it was informed by NRCC (National Rescue Command Center) at 1042 over a Panamanian vessel “Tong Cheng 601” with 13 Indonesian crew stranded at 26 nautical-mile west from Kaohsiung International Airport. NRCC had deployed 1 rescuing helicopter to lift 6 crew members and the rest 7 crew members were requesting Air Force for evacuation.
Once MND had received the information, an EC-225 aircraft (No. K-493) was detached from Jia-yi Air Force base for the rescue. It took off at 1105 and reached the target area at 1132 to start the evacuation. All 7 crew members were lifted at 1200 and the aircraft landed at Kaohsiung International Airport at 1217. The 7 crew members were handed over to Coast Guard Administration as mission accomplished.

Presently people can worry nothing as there is no special hostility and the military has been surveilling along the course to ensure the national security.

MND indicated (9th) that some news media has usually quoted anonymous “Military General” or “Military high-end” in current reports over Chinese military activities, giving false and non-fact information.
MND formally states that any report without a clear byline or quotation is no more than a rumor and appeals to news media to be fully responsible to avoid misleading.

MND said (10th) that currently some news media has quoted “Military General” or “Military high-end” in reports or comments on Chinese military activities, causing rumors and false information that trigger unnecessary national anxiety.
MND emphasizes no active general will individually express comment without approval. Any report with no clear byline or quotation will be treated as rumor and it is media’s responsibility to maintain the moral of precise report.
